David Bailey

Mr. David Bailey served in the U.S. Navy for over 22 years and retired as a master Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician. He conducted numerous sensitive operations, including presidential and VIP personal protection assignments, worldwide. While on active-duty, this master training specialist, freefall jumpmaster, and certified curriculum developer also was responsible for designing and delivering numerous courses on firearms, small-unit tactics, and explosives, to improve the operational readiness of EOD technicians in all environments. In addition, he served as a subject matter expert for the United States Joint Forces Command.

Since retirement, Mr. Bailey has continued his support of the Global War on Terrorism in the private sector by providing advisory and instructional assistance for numerous clients, such as the Department of Defense and Defense Threat Reduction Agency, as well select coalition forces. He has deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, and other areas of operation, training on improvised explosive device and unexploded ordnance identification and remediation tactics, techniques, and procedures to counter the threats posed by adaptive enemy forces. In addition, Mr. Bailey, who specializes in training and exercises, instructs civilian federal, state, and local law enforcement units on render-safe and disposal procedures, explosive hazards and mitigation, and force protection.

Mr. Bailey has attended hundreds of courses and training programs in his area of expertise. Of particular note, he is a graduate of the U.S. Navy EOD School; United Kingdom Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Operator School; Advanced EOD School; Advanced Access and Disablement School; Sandia Laboratories Advanced Nuclear EOD, Chemical/Biological Agent Detection, and Neutralization School; and the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy with honors.
